Aberystwyth University provides an opportunity for people to enjoy their university experience with like minded individuals through sport and welcome all and every level of player from internationally capped and seasoned players to first time players.
They are one of the largest and most established societies at the university and offer a first and second team which both compete in a variety of championships, including the Mid Wales cup, our BUCs championship, the Western Conference Cup and varsity. We have a great competitive rivalry with Bangor University, in which the universities compete for the Prince of Wales cup. Both teams have had great success in all of their competitions, winning various awards and establishing ourselves as a club that displays a high level of rugby talent and skill.
Aberystwyth is a working partner with the Region and supports the Rugby Club through the HUB Officer Programme.
Trinity St Davids
A new strategic partnership has been created between The University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s Academy of Sport, Llandovery College and Llandovery RFC to provide a pathway for students to combine their academic and rugby aspirations through Further, Higher Education and semi-professional rugby.
The university plays in the BUCS Rugby Union League and takes part in their Cup structure.
We work extremely closely with the University and recently ran an EPP (Emerging Player Programme) residential camp for approximately 125 children.
