Do you remember when you started playing or coaching?

When you look back do you realise how much more you know now than you did at the beginning. Do you ever cringe at the memory of your first coaching session and wish you could have used what you know now, then?

You have already developed yourself a great deal and as result deliver better sessions and more people benefit from your skills.

Personal development planning will help you to keep growing, understanding more about yourself and your players, learning new skills and approaches and staying motivated and inspired to be the best coach that you can be.

Learning never stops for performance coaches because they know that when it does, in a competitive environment you don’t just stand still you go backwards.

We have developed a simple personal development template to guide you through a process of identifying what you want to learn about, why you want to learn, how you could learn deeply and faster how you will know that you have developed.

You can use the process at any time and we recommend that you create an annual opportunity to reflect on what you have done and what you would like to do in the future.

The plan will help you to stay on track within your own planned structure and create an exciting personalised learning journey.

You can record the plan using the template or if you prefer simply record it yourself or using a voice note, a video or a mind map- whatever suits you best.

Failing to plan is planning to fail and you have a choice, your personal development plan is your guide to ensure that you are a better coach next year than you were today.

“If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.
